Steps to Change Your Login Method in Netmaker

To change your login method in Netmaker, follow these steps. But remember, you’ll need to transfer ownership of your tenants first, as changing your login method involves closing your current account.

Step 1: Log in to Netmaker AMUI

  • Use your current admin credentials to log in to the Netmaker Admin Management User Interface (AMUI).

Step 2: Transfer Ownership of All Tenants

Before closing your account, it's essential to transfer ownership of all your tenants to another user to prevent losing access or control over them. This ensures that the new owner will retain full administrative privileges for each tenant.

For detailed instructions on how to transfer ownership of your tenants, please refer to our guide on transferring tenant ownership.

Step 3: Close Your Netmaker Account

Once you've transferred ownership of all tenants, you're ready to close your current account.

  1. Go to Account Settings: In the left sidebar, click on Manage Account

  2. Scroll down in the Manage Account page and click on Close my account.

  3. Confirm Account Closure.

Step 4: Create a New Account with Your Preferred Login Method

Once your old account is closed, you can create a new account with the login method you prefer.

  1. Sign Up: Go to the Netmaker AMUI sign-up page.

  2. Select Your Preferred Login Method: Choose whether you want to log in using:

    • Email and Password

    • OAuth Authentication such as Microsoft, Google or GitHub login

  3. Complete the Sign-Up Process: Provide the necessary details and complete the sign-up process. This will create a new Netmaker account associated with your chosen login method.

Step 5: Reclaim Ownership of Your Tenants

After setting up your new account, contact the users you previously granted access to and ask them to transfer ownership of your tenants back to you.
